Exercise for Persistent Pain

Persistent pain, is a pain! Also known as chronic pain, it can have a huge effect on your wellbeing. While exercising may be the last thing on your mind, moving your body in a way that suits you and your circumstances (and the pain you’re experiencing) can help you manage symptoms and get or stay strong.

Persistent pain can also be fluctuating, only affect you at certain times, or be recurrent. People often assume that if it’s not debilitating then it’s not chronic or persistent pain, however those recurrent niggles, persistent aches, changes in the way you move due to discomfort or chronic stiffness can also be considered to be persistent pain worth addressing.

Exercise for Pelvic Health

Have you heard of Pelvic Health Exercise Physiology before? I’m thinking you might not have. Exercise Physiologists with knowledge and training in pelvic floor rehabilitation and function (like me!) can help you get on top of leaking, prolapse, pelvic pain, or help you with pelvic floor health through pregnancy, postpartum, menopause or at any life stage. Sometimes it can be surprising how your pelvic floor function can affect you, so hit the button below to learn more about how I can help.

Posture and Biomechanics

If you’ve ever thought you’d like to improve your posture, you’re not alone. It is a common goal from clients who come to see me. While blaming posture for musculoskeletal issues has got a bad wrap more recently, I believe our posture often contributes to our signs and symptoms. The way we are positioned in space at rest and in movement (a.k.a our biomechanics) affects our joint and spine alignment and therefore the ability of the attached muscles and connective tissue to work optimally. Pregnancy & Postpartum

Pregnancy and postpartum is not always a beautiful or enjoyable stage of life. Yes, I said it. Fatigue, niggles, pain, pelvic floor concerns and discomfort are all part of pregnancy and then when you’re postpartum you have another person to take care of. Or people if it’s not your first rodeo. And sadly, not every Mum gets to bring their baby home. Finding support that is well informed and trustworthy can be tricky (I’m looking at you internet), but the right care is a game changer in helping you manage this stage of life in a way that suits your circumstances.
